The African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ) launched the “Ready for the Job” initiative, a program which collects the resumes and business credentials of black male and female students, interns and entrepreneurs. After collecting the necessary credentials from applicants, the AACCNJ leverages its established relationships and partnerships with businesses both small and large to help fill potential job opportunities.

This initiative was developed as a means of providing a “pipeline” for corporations to access an influx of potential employees. By collecting resumes on its website (www.aaccnj.com), the AACCNJ will serve as a resource for job fulfillment requests. The moment job opportunities are available, they will work expeditiously to give its constituents the best possible chance to obtain gainful employment. If the resume is already in AACCNJ’s possession, the response time will be expedited.

The application process for the “Ready for the Job” initiative is as follows:

  1. The AACCNJ will use its website to collect and store the resumes. Resumes can be entered via FORMS by following the link to the FORMS section: https://www.chamberorganizer.com/members/form_edit.php?org_id=AANJ&fid=3384619
  2. Complete the summary information and upload the resume.
  3. The resumes on file will be displayed in alphabetical order by name.
  4. The Summary Document will display the following: First submitted, Last submitted, Status, First name, Last name, Email address, Access code, Best contact number, Job categories, and Uploaded resume.

Staff at the AACCNJ will monitor job requests and will be informing applicants via e-mail when their resumes are under consideration for an available position. The AACCNJ is encouraging people in the job market to upload their credentials and become part of the “Ready for the Job” initiative.
