On Saturday, March 16th, you are invited to the Capital City for another stirring evening of music courtesy of the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey. The CPNJ will be presenting their rendition of Stravinsky’s “Petrushka” at 7:30pm at the Patriots Theater at the Trenton War Memorial. This venue is conveniently located in the core of downtown at 1 Memorial Dr, Trenton, NJ 08608. Other featured performances of the night include “Seven O’Clock Shout” by Valerie Coleman, as well as Philip Glass’ Violin Concerto No. 1, performed by Grammy Award winner, Yvonne Lam. A breathtaking performance presented by some of the region’s top musicians, this concert is certain to leave you on the edge of your seat from the very first note.

“Petrushka” is a ballet written by Russian composer, Igor Stravinsky, in 1911. A thrilling composition from start to finish, this piece is renowned for its complex technical prowess and musical difficulties. A true challenge for any seasoned performer, this composition is certain to keep musicians and audiences alike on their toes. The piece features rapid jumps, whirling glissandos, complicated polyrhythms, and a whole host of other intricacies. Whether you’re a classical afficiando or just looking to experience a masterful feat of musicianship, all are certain to be wowed by the CPNJ’s brilliant interpretation of this piece.
