If you work in non-profits or grant writing, chances are you’re familiar with the funding cycle. While there are a number of resources out there to help get your vision off the ground, it can be hard to identify what the best opportunities are for your particular project. Thankfully, however, the New Jersey State Library has carefully curated a plethora of resources to help grant seekers and funding finders get their hands on the grant opportunities needed for their organization to thrive. And now, they’re here to show you how to harness these tools for your next great proposal.
On Tuesday, November 14th, you are invited to join the New Jersey State Library for their next upcoming webinar, “Finding Grant Funding with Foundation Directory”. This conversation will be held virtually from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Zoom. As always, the webinar is completely free to attend; however, advanced registration is necessary. If you do plan on attending, please be sure to enroll on Zoom here: Register – Zoom.
Over the course of the afternoon, potential grant-seekers will have the opportunity to dive deep into a number of details regarding the Foundation Directory, including how to:
- Access the Foundation Directory database.
- Perform searches to find prospective grant funders for your organization.
- Evaluate grantmaker profiles to find funding matches.
- Save grantmaker information for later reference.
Upon completion of the webinar, all attendees will be granted login credentials to use the Foundation Directory database remotely for 48 hours following the presentation. There will also be plenty of time to discuss any questions you may have, assuring you can maximize your use of this game-changing database.
The Foundation Directory is a one-stop shop for detailed information on 240,000+ U.S. foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities. The directory also provides grant-seekers with links to current foundation 990-PF tax returns. This resource is adaptable, allowing users to search by name, EIN, location, fields of interest, types of support, and more. The database is updated weekly, assuring you have access to the most up-to-date information. This and a number of other funding resources can be found on the NJSL’s Funding Information Center, linked here: Funding Information Center – NJSL. In the Funding Information Center, grant-seekers will find a number of auxiliary tools, including training and webinar information, GuideStar Pro, tutorials, and more.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more prior to this conversation, you can contact the New Jersey State Library at (609) 278-2640 for additional details. Getting your project off the ground is just one grant proposal away, so be sure you have the tools you need to get it off the ground!
