If you’re an arts enthusiast, stay tuned. Talent is teeming throughout our community, and now it’s on display at the Trenton Free Public Library!
Fans of First Fridays can enjoy the fun all month long with the Trenton Free Public Library’s latest exhibit, “First Fridays Curators.” This gallery features the work of many talented artists on display at the 2023 season of Downtown Trenton’s First Fridays. Each month, regional artists are invited to be a part of First Fridays, giving them a chance to show off their work to a diverse audience of Trentonians. Now, in conjunction with the Trenton Artist’s Workshop Association (TAWA), this latest gallery installation gives a broader audience another opportunity to once again enjoy the talented artists on display. The gallery was unveiled on June 1st, and guests will have now through July 29th to enjoy the installation.
This gallery is an offshoot of Trenton’s First Fridays, a unique community event in the Capital City. On the first Friday of each month (hence the name!), young and old Trentonians are invited to the heart of Downtown Trenton to celebrate the art, music, and culture that makes this city great. Guests of First Fridays can enjoy several activities, including shopping and dining from local establishments, performances by regional musicians, arts and cultural displays, meet and greets with local authors, and so much more. Whether you’re a family with little ones or a local worker looking to kick off your weekend, all are welcome to participate in this festive occasion. If you’d like to read more about upcoming events, please check out the African American Cultural Collaborative’s website here: TAACC – First Fridays.
The gallery is supported by TAWA, the Trenton Artist’s Workshop Association. This collective of artists plays an integral role in many of the art installations and programming you see throughout the city. Through their work with several community organizations, they continue to help keep the arts accessible and enjoyable in the Capital City. Its host, the Trenton Free Public Library, provides additional support for this gallery. For generations of Trentonians, the Trenton Free Public Library has been synonymous with literature, arts, and education for all. From an extensive collection of books, movies, and music to public galleries, educational workshops, and more, their work fosters a love of learning at each age and stage of life. If you’d like to read more about the gallery and find out more about their exciting calendar of programming, you can visit the Trenton Free Public Library website here: Home – TPL.
