Foundation Academies is now accepting online applications for the 2024-25 academic year for kindergarten through Grade 12, with an Admissions Open House for grades 9-12 at 5 pm Wednesday Jan. 10 at FA Collegiate campus, 22 Grand St.
Foundation Academies is Trenton’s K-12 free, public charter school. There is NO COST to apply and NO COST to attend. New students are admitted based on applications selected in a computerized, random lottery. Visit our Admissions webpage to APPLY TODAY!
Families and scholars applying to attend FA Collegiate are invited to visit campus to talk with school leaders about academics and culture, and our college & career advisor about planning for the future. Come hear from current scholars about clubs and athletics, and from an alum about how FAC prepared them for life after high school. Register here for our FAC Open House 5 pm Wed Jan 10 at 22 Grand St.
“We know your family has options for high school, and we are eager to show you why FA Collegiate is the best for your student,” said FAC Principal Isabel Goss. “We make sure every scholar has room to shine at FA Collegiate. Your scholar can join champion sports teams, explore new interests in clubs, visit colleges, and always know they are seen, supported and valued.”
Foundation Academies also is expanding kindergarten enrollment to welcome up to 140 new students in the coming school year. FA Elementary School provides a consistent, caring learning environment from K through Grade 5 at our 363 W. State Street campus. Scholars continue their education journey at that location for Middle School, including grades 6-8.
FA opened its doors in 2007 as a middle school in a borrowed building. Today, FA educates more than 1,000 students from kindergarten through Grade 12 on two campuses, in the west ward, and south ward. Our graduation rate exceeds New Jersey state averages, and our college acceptance rate is near 100%.
CEO Sheria McRae is a Trenton native who lives in Mill Hill with her husband and daughters. A proud Howard University alumna, she started at FA as a middle school teacher more than 12 years ago — and her daughter is now an FA student. Mrs. McRae leads an Executive Team and staff committed to closing the opportunity gap for children in Trenton by providing quality education and enrichment programs.
“Too often, society underestimates the talent, ambition, and purpose of our scholars based on the color of their skin and their zip code,” Mrs. McRae said. “At Foundation Academies, we see our scholars and value their unique genius. We equip them to excel in learning and empower them to lead purpose-filled lives.”
