It’s 2024, and with a new year underway, many of us are eager to get started on chipping away at our resolutions. And for many of us, purchasing a home is top priority. The process of buying a home is no small feat – with fluctuating interest rates, competitive buyers, and an ever-evolving housing market, finding a place of your own can feel like quite the undertaking. However, with the right tools and resources in place, you’ll be crossing the threshold into a home of your own in no time. And thankfully, Isles is here to help you along every step of the way.

On Saturday, January 27th, you are invited to join Isles for a First-Time Homebuyers Workshop. The first workshop of 2024 will be held from 8:45am to 4:00pm at 33 Tucker Street Trenton, NJ 08618. This all-day workshop will help get you and your family prepared for every phase of the homeownership process, from finding financing to down payment assistance and more. The cost of admission is $50 for individuals and $75 for couples. The cost of your admission includes workshop materials, coffee and tea, snacks, lunch, and a certificate upon completion. Please do note, however, that certificates will only be granted to those who attend the full day’s seminar. If you plan on attending, registration is available here: Register – Isles. If you have any questions or need any accessibility accommodations prior to attending, please call 609-341-4783 or email homehelp@isles.org so that arrangements can be made.

Throughout the course of the afternoon, workshop attendees will have the opportunity to cover a number of vital topics, including:

  • What are the financial reasons to purchase a home?
  • How much mortgage can I afford? Will I qualify?
  • What role does a realtor place? A lender? An inspector?

All this and more will be discussed before the conclusion of the afternoon’s events. By the time you leave, potential buyers should feel equipped to explore their financial options, navigate the purchasing process, and have a better idea about the professionals needed to bring this process to life. Upon competition of the workshop, you will also be given a certificate of completion, which can be used for a number of perks. Completing housing counseling from a HUD-certified counselor can be used to access financial assistance programs, down payment assistance, and much more. An afternoon of learning to gain a lifetime of savings? Where do we sign up!
