In the blink of an eye, 2023 will be coming to a close and 2024 will soon be upon us. But before we send this year on its way, your presence is requested for one last hurrah before the new year.

On Friday, December 29th, you are invited to the Trenton City Museum for the final Freedom Fridays of 2023. The festivities will begin at 7pm at the Ellarslie Mansion, located at 299 Parkside Ave., Trenton, NJ 08606. Upon your arrival, there will be plenty of free and accessible parking directly adjacent to the museum. Admission for this event is a $5 donation, which will go directly towards supporting the work of the Trenton Museum Society. Light refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

The host for this evening will be Son of Black and Jane Malloy, who will be joined by featured performer, Len Bilous. Len is an award-winning soccer coach, as well as an acclaimed social justice poet. If you plan on performing at this month’s open mic, please be certain to leave adequate time to sign up.

Since its founding in 2019, Freedom Fridays has quickly established itself as one of Mercer County’s most sought-after open mic nights. From dances to comedians, to singers, musicians, and more, all are welcome to put their talents on display. In addition to a wide array of performances, guests can also wander the museum to check out some of the many engaging exhibits on display. If you want to enjoy a bit of retail therapy while you’re there, guests will also have the option of exploring Molly’s Museum Shop, which features a whole host of Trenton memorabilia, home wares, paintings, mementos, and more.
