When looking back at childhood, many of our fondest moments happened at the park. From flying on swings with your friends to an afternoon of athletic fun with your families, parks are the backdrop for some of our life’s most precious memories. With an abundance of parks and facilities throughout the community, Trenton’s youth is no stranger to a day full of fun in the local park. The City of Trenton will host this weekend’s Kids to Park Day to encourage the community’s kids to get out and play.
On Saturday, May 20th, you and your little ones are invited to a day of play at Trenton’s Kids to Park Day. The event will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm at Unity Square Park, located at the corners of Hamilton and Chestnut Avenues. Over the day, children can participate in several exciting outdoor activities, including but not limited to rock climbing, volleyball, soccer, music, and games.
Guests will also have the chance to enjoy refreshments provided by the event organizers.
Trenton is just one of many cities participating in Kids to Parks Day. This initiative, which originated with the National Parks Trust, celebrates all things outdoor play throughout our nation’s great parks. Now entering its 13th year, the mission remains devoted to developing an interest in the outdoors in the next generation and assuring that today’s youth will grow to be stewards of the community’s natural resources. Always celebrated on the third Saturday of May, Kids to Parks Day engages thousands of children and their families to set down the screens and enjoy an afternoon with one another in the great outdoors.
