The magic of the holidays is officially upon us, and signs of the season are popping up all over town. The holiday season is a special time to connect and enjoy the celebrations and traditions that bring our community together. From the lighting of the tree at City Hall to the twinkling lights all over Downtown, there’s no doubt this season is a special one in the Capital City. Of all our community’s holiday traditions, one of the most beloved is the Mill Hill Holiday House Tour. If you’re a fan of all things festive fun, you’ll won’t want to miss this magical celebration.

On Saturday, December 2nd, you and your family are invited to celebrate the holidays at the 2023 Mill Hill Holiday House Tour. The festivities for the day will kick off at Artworks, located at 19 Everett Alley, Trenton, NJ 08611. From 12-5pm, you will have the chance to explore magnificently decorated homes all throughout the Mill Hill neighborhood. A long-standing tradition for 56 years, the tour remains Mill Hill’s signature event. For over half a century, residents of the community have volunteered to open their hearts and their doors, offering visitors a first-hand glimpse at some of Trenton’s most historic homes.

During the tour, homes in the neighborhood will display special decorations donning their front windows and/or home exteriors. Some of the homeowners will even welcome you into their homes, where you will be greeted with holiday music, refreshments, and conversation on the stoop. Mill Hill is best known for its vast variety of home sizes, ages, and architectural styles, boasting one of the finest nineteenth-century streetscapes in the tristate area. The tour is run and organized by the Old Mill Hill Society and the residents of Mill Hill, who have played a massive role in the historic preservation of the region. Money raised by the tour funds preservation grants that assist homeowners in maintaining the Trenton Landmarks Commission for Historic Preservation Standards which have helped shape the neighborhood into what it is today.

If you’re interested in attending, tickets ($20 per person) can be purchased in advanced here: Eventbrite – Mill Hill. You can also purchase tickets day-of at Artworks. Visitors will be able to park for free at Artworks, conveniently nestled at the heart of the Mill Hill neighborhood. If you don’t plan on driving, not to worry! The Trenton Train Station is only a short walk away as is the River Line. There are also a number of bus stops located within proximity of the event. No matter how you choose to get there, be sure to make it to Trenton for this unforgettable afternoon.

This event is hosted by the Old Mill Hill Society, a dynamic group of stakeholders devoted to the historic preservation and restoration of properties within the Mill Hill area. The organization represents the interests of Mill Hill residents, property-owners, and business-owners, implementing programs and initiatives which serve to uplift the community as it forges towards a bright future.
