The Camp College fall youth program, located on the campus of Mercer County Community College (MCCC) in West Windsor, is open for registration with in-person and virtual learning adventures for children.

Camp College offers courses for children 8 to 14 years of age. “New Jersey Teacher Convention is fast approaching in early November and now is a perfect time for families to keep kids engaged in their studies in one or more Camp College learning adventures,” said Rose Fiorello, Director of Youth and Special Programs at MCCC.

Fiorello continued, “We wanted to offer a choice of in-person and online learning opportunities so that parents can have more classes to choose from this fall.”

The in-person learning adventures available brings two courses from Black Rocket including Code Breakers, which teaches children the basics of HTML, Javascript and CSS through a series of fun web projects and design challenges; and Minecraft Redstone Engineers, which moves children beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and develops the skills to become a true Redstone engineer. The focus of the class is to expand children’s Redstone knowledge with a “construct your own carnival” project with a variety of mini-games, roller coasters and attractions powered by Redstone.

Fall registration will also feature a variety of virtual STEAM courses in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.

“The virtual classes at Camp College are led by top teachers and taught live with small break-out sessions with specialty coaches,” said Fiorello. “These classes are a great way to jumpstart a child’s tech or math career or get an early foothold in the arts.”
