On November 12, 2020, South Broad Street of Trenton welcomed owners Sakeenah Blakely and Kamal Robinson and their new restaurant, The Food Bar and Grill. Mayor Reed Gusciora met with the new business, located at 439 South Broad Street, Suite 106, to officiate a ribbon cutting at the grand opening.
When visiting The Food Bar and Grill website, the first thing you are met with is a statement from the owners saying, “Delicious food is my passion. I believe in its power to nourish, sustain, delight, and bring people together. I use only the highest quality ingredients.”
The Food Bar and Grill offers a variety of fresh food for the soul. Featured on their menu is items such as baked seafood mac and cheese, cajun deep fried salmon, crispy fried chicken sandwiches, rib eye steaks and even a jerk chicken cheese steaks. The restaurant also offers a variety of flavored wings including lemon pepper, sweet asian Thai, garlic parmesan, honey barbecue and buffalo.
Customers have found a comfort in not only the meals The Food Bar and Grill provides, but also the hospitality and welcoming atmosphere Blakely and Robinson create. One testimonial on their website from a Yassa P. said, “This is not my first ride with this young lady nor will it ever be my last. On top of her delicious food she exudes great customer service. She makes you feel like you are her only customer. She takes to the time to explain anything you don’t understand. No order is too big or too small.”
The Food Bar and Grill has taken to Facebook to share photos of their latest meal creations with the Trenton community. Just two days ago, they posted a picture of a blackened crab and shrimp stuffed salmon with sautéed asparagus and shrimp. Each photo posted gets likes, comments and shares from their valued customers.
Customers have even taken to Facebook to rate the business five stars. One customer, Jennifer Lynn Cuyler, reviewed the restaurant and said, “We had a large order this evening and the food was DELICIOUS!!!! Don’t mind waiting the extra time for fresh, hot food. We will definitely be visiting again!”
