The City of Trenton intends to make two applications to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, to the Green Acres Program and to the Urban Parks Grant Program for funding to address two sites: 104 Taylor Street and 3 Amtico Square. The target of the Green Acres Grant is the construction of a skatepark and associated multipurpose courts at 3 Amtico Square, with an anticipated application amount of $1M grant, $340,000 loan.
The target of the Urban Parks Grant is the development of multipurpose fields and renovation of a building to provide restrooms and park related amenities, with an anticipated application amount of $500,000. This will build upon the construction of a soccer field at the site, anticipated to be funded through a different grant.
