The Salvation Army Trenton Citadel Corps will host its 2019 Annual Awards Breakfast and Red Kettle Kick Off on Friday, November 15, 2019, 8:30 a.m. at Mastoris located at 144 US-130 Bordentown, NJ. The breakfast will honor individuals and organizations whose contributions and exemplary service have impacted the community. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the ongoing work of The Salvation Army in Trenton/Mercer County to provide emergency assistance, rental, utility assistance, food, clothing & furniture assistance, holiday assistance and character-building programs at The Salvation Army.  

Mr. Charlie Parkerson will be honored with the ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ for outstanding volunteer service, and work with The Salvation Army’s Mobile Feeding canteen and Red Kettle Campaign. The Mobile Canteen, which serves prepared meals to those in need in the city, hits city streets every other Friday and serves warm and delicious prepared meals to the neediest neighbors.

Millhill Child and Family Development Corporation, will receive the Distinguished Community Service Award for outstanding work in the city to strengthen and improve youth and family services.

The Rotary Club of Trenton, New Jersey will receive the Bell Ringer Award for its participation in the Red Kettle Campaign and its commitment to raise funds to support ongoing programs at the Trenton Salvation Army.

“We look forward to honoring and recognizing these very esteemed members of our community for their dedication and immense contributions to The Salvation Army in Greater Trenton/Mercer County,” said Major Elijah Kahn, Co-Corps Officer of the Trenton Citadel Corps. “These honorees continue to make meaningful contributions to the success and progress of the work we are doing here in Greater Trenton/Mercer County, and they deserve to be acknowledged,” he added.
