The Trenton Photo Club has been invited by the JKC Gallery to begin its newly-established Third Thursdays program. Habiyb Shu’Aib and Heather Palacek will be initiating the event and managing the presenters. Third Thursdays is a monthly event (open to the public) where two photographers present their work using the large display screen and talk about their artistic process. Photographers will show their work and talk about their process and concepts, followed by Q&A. After the presentations, Trenton Photo Club will stay for a monthly meeting. You’re welcome to that too, if you’re serious about photography and respectful of Trenton. The Third Thursday this month is the 20th.
The Trenton Photo Club was organized on July 12th, 2014, by Chris Marinari, who says, “its objective is to unite photographers (experienced, non-experienced and the beginner) who share the common interest, Trenton New Jersey. It doesn’t matter if you take pictures with a cell phone, DSLR or film camera, you are welcome to join us and explore all of the photographic opportunities that Trenton has to offer. By collaborating with a wide range of photographers, we will all learn something new and become better at what we love to do.”
“You’ll be invited to various meet ups, photo walks & bike tours that will take place in and around Trenton,” he explains. “If you or another member has an idea for a project, meetup or anything else that you would like TPC to do, please share your ideas! This group is all about meeting other photographers and sharing tips and stories that surround this great hobby that we all have in common.”
You don’t have to be a Trenton resident to be a member of the Club. It is open to anyone who has a love of photography and an interest in Trenton! That said, it is a Club, and they will remove any member who shows disregard to the rules of the Club, demeans other members, or is disrespectful of the City of Trenton.
The Photo Clubs Goals are delightfully simple:
– Exploring the sometimes hidden beauty that is Trenton through the lens
– Collaborating to organize exhibitions and outings among group members
– And of course, having fun while making the City of Trenton a better place!
The Club believes that, “The most powerful thing that shoots is a CAMERA.”
