You’ve had a meal at almost all of the restaurants in Downtown Trenton, but have you stepped into City Deli? You’d be surprised to find such variety on their menu. Everything from Hispanic to Italian— and even some Greek! The best part, it’s all home made.

Lilian Pereda, owner of City Deli, is ready to welcome you with open arms and a warm smile. The thing most important to her she says, is for people to eat, “Saludable, sano, y barato” which translates to healthy, wholesome, and inexpensive. A Peruvian native, she takes pride in her business and even more in the relationship she has with her customers. “They are not customers,” she says, “they are friends.”

Call in your order or sit and enjoy your meal at the beautifully decorated location, and if you prefer, take advantage of the outdoor dining as well!Make sure to try the Arroz con Pollo, one of their most popular dishes. Pereda and the friendly crew want to get to know you and after tasting the food, you’ll want to get to know them, too. But, Pereda wants you to leave negative thoughts at the door, “Come in, smile, it’s all good energy in here.” she says.

City Deli was sent to her by God; after working for the previous owner for many years she took over and has given the place her very best. She knows that people enjoy her food, she states proudly “I don’t need publicity, people know me by word of mouth.” But in case word hasn’t reached you yet, make sure you swing by during the week anytime from 6:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you can’t come to 15 N. Willow St. but are less than 5 miles away, call and they’ll gladly deliver.

You’ll enjoy City Deli so much you’ll want to tell everyone about it. And you can because City Deli can cater your next event.

So if you want to some great food for your next party or just lunch for yourself make sure you give City Deli a try. You won’t regret it!
