With fall underway and winter quickly approaching, now’s the perfect time to take charge of your health for you and your family. One of the easiest ways you can keep your family safe this holiday season is by making sure you’re protected against COVID-19.

On Thursday, November 15th, Mercer County will be offering a free vaccine clinic at the CURE Insurance arena (81 Hamilton Ave. Trenton, NJ – Gate A). The event will be held from 3:00 to 5:30 pm and all ages are welcome. Attendees above the age of 6 can receive either a Pfizer or Moderna booster regardless of the vaccine they received for their primary series.

Current public health guidance recommends that individuals ages 5 and older should receive a COVID-19 bivalent booster dose. The booster should be received two months after your most recent booster or primary vaccination series. The updated COVID-19 boosters offer recipients stronger protections against Omicron sub-variants, helping to lower the risk of severe illness and death.

If you can’t make it to this particular vaccine clinic, do not worry! The State of New Jersey offers an appointment finder tool here: Appointment Finder – COVID-19. If you’re 65 or older, there is a dedicated senior hotline at (856) 249-7007 from 8 am to 8 pm for vaccine scheduling assistance. There are also dedicated appointment slots specifically for those over 65. For those who are homebound, resources are available here: COVID-19 Vaccine – In-Home Appointments.

NJ 211 is also offering free rides to vaccine appointments in partnership with Lyft and United Way. Just call 2-1-1 before your appointment and you’ll be able to schedule a ride.

If you have any questions before the vaccine clinic, don’t hesitate to contact the hotline at 1-855-568-0545 and a representative will be available to answer any questions you may have. Stay safe this winter and let’s get boosted, Trenton!
