Nothing renews the mind and motivates the spirit quite like a makeover. When we’re looking and feeling our best, we’re better prepared to take on the day and tackle whatever life throws our way. If you’re currently in the job market and are looking to wow your next employer, first impressions are everything. From how we present ourselves to the way we interact with others, the little things can make all the difference in setting us apart from the competition. If you’re looking to walk the walk and talk the talk at your next career venture, you are invited to join the Mercer County Community College for their upcoming event, Fashion for Work.

Fashion for Work is a soft skills workshop designed to empower the prospective employee and help to refine some of the most critical day to day skills for navigating the workplace. The upcoming workshop will take place on Tuesday, March 26th from 10am to 12pm at Downtown Trenton’s James Kerney Campus, located at 102 N Broad St, Trenton, NJ 08608. This program is presented through MCCC’s Community Education and Training program, a one-stop shop educational and career advancement. This event is free to attend, so all are welcome to come along for an educational and engaging morning.

Soft skills refers to our interpersonal skills, communication styles, and ways in which we interact with our environments. While our technical abilities may be impressive, soft skills are a must-know for any prospective employee. In fact, when undergoing the hiring process, a strong understanding of soft skills is one of the most important aspects of identifying the best candidate for the job. At the upcoming workshop, guests will learn more about what soft skills entail, as well as how to employ these skills to be the best employee around. Some of the many skills covered in this workshop will include: attitude, attendance, appearance, communication skills, flexibility/adaptability, leadership, problem solving, team work, and work life/self-motivation, which are all key skills to know for any candidate. Guests will walk away from this event empowered and ready to take their careers to the next level.
