Buying a house is a tremendous milestone in any person’s life. Having a place you’re truly proud to call home is a feeling unlike any other. If this is an achievement you and your family hope to check off, Isles is here to equip you with all the necessary tools to make the home-buying process a breeze.

On Saturday, April 15th, Isles, designated a HUD-certified counseling agency, will host another installment of their first-time homebuyers course. This course will be held from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm at 33 Tucker Street, Trenton, NJ 08618. This course is $50 for individuals and $75 for couples. Registration will include a full day’s worth of workshop materials, coffee/tea, snacks, lunch, and a homebuyer education certification. If you are interested in attending, registration is available online here: Register – Isles. Please note that attendees must complete the course to receive the certificate at the conclusion.

This insightful course will cover all the basics of home-buying, including:

  • What are the financial reasons for purchasing a home?
  • How much mortgage can I afford? Will I qualify?
  • What role do a lender, realtor, and inspector play?
  • How to identify and access financial assistance programs

Participants will also learn more about identifying a suitable property for their family’s needs. After the course, prospective homebuyers should feel better equipped to tackle the beginning-to-end process of making a house their home.

First-time homebuyer courses are not just an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of homeownership – these courses can also help to unlock an abundance of assistance programs, perks, and more. Some of the many benefits course participants can potentially enjoy include lower down payments, access to government programs, grant opportunities, and potentially lower closing costs. Although this course is just a day’s worth of your time, as a result of your participation, you and your family could enjoy savings for many years.
