Are you interested in learning more about sustainability, environmental trades, and combating climate change? Then, the Trenton Climate Corps is the opportunity for you!
The Trenton Climate Corps, managed by Isles, Inc., is a part of regional and national initiatives designed to provide hands-on training in sustainability. The program will take place at the Isles Youth Institute, 33 Tucker St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Some exciting topics covered include agriculture, forestry, water management, disaster relief, green energy, home weatherization, landscaping, and healthy homes. This is a full-time, 24-35 hr./week opportunity. Both labor-intensive outdoor work and computer/internal work opportunities are available. No prior experience is necessary to participate.
The ideal candidate must be a minimum age of 17 and have a high school diploma. In addition, candidates must be independent workers and problem solvers with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. If you aren’t in a position to join the corps but still want to lend a hand, there are opportunities for you as well! You can get involved by referring others, becoming a partner, donating supplies, or becoming a volunteer. Any contribution to the Climate Corps will aid in addressing some of the most prevalent environmental issues facing Trenton.
