At a recent luncheon, Milllhill Child & Family Development Center’s Executive Director, Cynthia Oberkofler, was honored by the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce as a February 2019 Fred Young Champion for Business.
Cynthia was recognized for her vision and commitment to Trenton’s children, youth, and families through her role at Millhill. She was also recognized for her leadership in the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) for the past three years.
The SYEP is a private-public partnership with Millhill, the City of Trenton, and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide summer employment opportunities for Trenton teens. Entering its fourth summer, the program provides youth with job readiness training and summer youth employment opportunities.
Alongside its partners, Millhill Child & Family Development Center works to strengthen the Trenton community and promote the development of the entire family by serving over 5,000 individuals directly through various programs including a comprehensive preschool, the Trenton PEERS (Performing Educating & Engaging about Responsible Strategies, Trenton NGCL (Next Generation Community Leaders), SYEP, extensive counseling programs for individuals of all ages, and fostering community collaboration through coordination of the Trenton Area Stakeholders (a collaborative network of over 800 organizations in the Trenton area).
Cynthia Oberkofler has been employed at Millhill Child & Family Development Center since November 2002. She has earned her BS in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Rider University. She is also certified in Early Childhood Education.
