Passage Theatre Company, Trenton’s Barrymore Award-winning professional theatre company, will present its second Solo Flight of the 2020 Season, Mother (and me), written and performed by Melinda Buckley and directed by Brian Feehan. This show will run for one weekend only, March 20-22, at the Mill Hill Playhouse.
Mother (and me) is the story of a larger than life Hungarian Mama Rose who’s slowly waltzing into dementia, as her Broadway baby, Melinda shimmies into middle age. An outrageous one-woman show about stepping up and tapping into your own light.
Performer and Writer Melinda Buckley has appeared on Broadway and in the National tours of several shows, including Crazy For You, A Chorus Line and Bob Fosse’s revival of Sweet Charity. She performed improv and sketch material with Gotham City Improv and Chicago City Limits, and appeared as a stand up at Caroline’s, Stand-Up NY, and Gotham Comedy Club.
Melinda has written, directed, and choreographed numerous commercial and corporate productions for such clients as Fox, ESPN, WE tv, Sesame Street, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Pepsi, IBM, American Express and Audi. She has written and performed several solo shows, her latest being, Mother (and me).
Passage’s Artistic Director, Ryanne Domingues, says, “I am really looking forward to bringing Melinda and her heart-warming, hilarious show to Trenton. There are so many people who can relate to this piece. If you’ve ever been a mother or have a mother who you love, this one’s for you!”
Performances of Mother (and me) are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. for one weekend only, March 20-22. Tickets are $13 – $27. Student, group and senior discounts are available. To purchase tickets, call (609) 392-0766, or visit www.passagetheatre.org.
