As nicer weather comes to the Capital City, Freedom NJ is building on the success of their indoor programs by teaming up with Friends of Amtico Square to bring back the Saturday Skate Jams they started last summer.
Starting this Saturday May 11, the organization will be bringing free pop-up skate park, boards, and helmets to Sonny Vereen Park every Saturday morning from 10:00 to 12:00. This will be the only skate park in Trenton this summer!
Friends of Amtico Square is a group of Trenton residents and activists looking to develop a skate park in Trenton to provide an opportunity for recreation while creating a tourist attraction that will help continue the economic revitalization of the City. After looking at a few sites the group decided to focus their efforts on redeveloping the site at Amtico Square.
Freedom NJ is an all-volunteer 501c(3) nonprofit led by skateboarders and Trenton residents working to open Freedom Skate Park (an indoor skate park) in the Capital City. Read more about their work this past winter in the following TrentonDaily article.

The first episode focuses on the diverse, accepting, and supportive community skateboarding creates. To learn more or to support their mission to bring skateboarding to every neighborhood in Trenton visitwww.freedomnj.org/skate-jams.
